Avon Podiatry, we believe that total patient care should be caring, personal,
and up-to-date. We strive to follow this philosophy from the time you first make
contact with the office, and through to your release. We will treat you like part
of our "family." We
start this process by being as timely with appointments as possible. If,
an emergency arises causing us to run late, we will make all attempts to contact
you. We believe that your time is as valuable as ours. As
we go through the stages of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, you will
be an active participant. We make sure you understand what we are talking about
and doing. We take the time necessary to explain to you, in terms you can understand,
what the problem involves. We make certain you know what can be done about it,
how much time the care will take, and any other particulars about YOUR podiatric
problem. This process also includes insurance issues as they relate to coverage
and pre-certification, including all the confusing changes in the insurance industry.
We endeavor to stay current on the insurance topics by reading insurance newsletters,
questioning new and confusing policies, and attending seminars. We take the insurance
issues as seriously as we do changes and advances in podiatric medicine.
My staff and
I have made a pledge to stay current with new modalities of diagnosis, care, surgery,
medicine, and bio-mechanical treatments. We want you to have the best care available
and we want your visit(s) to our office to be a pleasant as can be.
Dr. David E. Gurvis, D.P.M.
is a licensed podiatrist who is board certified in podiatric surgery. He obtained
his undergraduate degree of BSBA from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
He earned his D.P.M. (Doctor of Podiatric Medicine) degree from The Ohio College
of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio in 1977.
After further study and
passing both a written and oral examination, Dr. Gurvis became board certified
by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in 1986. He is also a Fellow of the
American College of Foot Surgeons. He has been in practice in the Avon area since
1978. |  |
The goal of Dr. Gurvis and his
staff is to make you as comfortable as possible during your visit. They strive
to provide you and your family with the best podiatric care available. They are
continually participating in seminars on current and new methodologies in the
field of podiatry with this result in mind. With
over 20 years in practice, Dr. Gurvis has not only kept up with, but
also welcomed new podiatric techniques and practices. He has published and lectured
extensively and is currently lecturing on Extra Corporeal Shock Wave therapy for
heel spur syndrome. Dr. Gurvis is one
of an initial group of Indiana podiatrists who have become certified in the use
of the Ossatron Shock Wave Machine. Dr. Gurvis is on the medical staffs of Hendricks
Community Hospital, Westview Hospital, Community South Hospital, St. Vincent's
Hospital and Woman's Hospital. He is also on the staff of Health South Surgery
Center and the Hibbeln Surgery Center. He has been active in Quality Assurance
committees at Westview and was asked to initiate the podiatric standards at Women's
Hospital. He is on the board of directors at the Hibbeln Surgery Center.

Gurvis' staff has been well trained to handle your appointment, insurance
billing and questions. His podiatric assistant
has passed a rigorous State of Indiana examination in radiology prior to being
able to take your X-rays. She is also an able well trained surgical assistant
who will answer any questions you might have about how your surgery is scheduled
and your post-operative care. The insurance billing
staff is friendly and here to help you better understand the maze of
insurance regulations and billing process. They attend seminars to keep them up
to date. All in all, I hope and count on your visit to my office being as comfortable
as possible.
