Post-Operative Instructions for Temporary
Toe Nail or Nail Margin Removal (Avulsion)
Or Incision & Drainage (I&D)

1. Keep your foot elevated the rest of today to reduce bleeding.

2. Tomorrow morning, remove all the dressings and soak your toe 2 times a day in lukewarm salt water for 5 to 10 minutes each time. Apply antibiotic ointment (Triple antibiotic, Bacitracin ,Neosporin etc.) and cover with a Band-Aid. Continue this procedure for the entire week until Dr. Gurvis checks the area.
